Home Users & Business Users

We offer two different ways to connect your computer to your broadband connection:

USB (Universal Serial Bus) Port

Ethernet network Port

The USB connection is suitable for connecting broadband to a single PC. Our Home Users section applies to USB connections.

Min contract term of 12 months.

The Ethernet network connection is typically used by businesses who want to connect a network of computers to the Internet using a broadband connection. Our Business Users section applies to Ethernet connections. However, some of our Home Users prefer the Ethernet connection. If you are a Home User and you would like to connect broadband via Ethernet, please refer to our Business Users section.

Broadband and ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line)

All our broadband connections are provided using ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) technology. This runs over your existing BT phone line. With broadband you can enjoy:

Fast Internet access and download speeds.

The connection is permanently on; there is no need to wait for a connection each time you want to access the Internet.

You can still make phone (voice) calls while logged on to the internet using the same phone line.

Manage data communications costs more effectively.

Data Transfer Speeds

ADSL operates at various different speeds (data transfer rates). We offer the following:

Download Max.                Upload Max.        Home User        Business User

512Kbps                           256Kbps                Yes                Yes

1Mbps                               256Kbps                No                  Yes

Requirements

For all broadband orders, an upgrade will be required to your existing BT phone line. This upgrade is included in the price of all our broadband packages and it will be performed by a British Telecom Engineer.

Both Home Users and Business Users will require broadband hardware in order to connect your computer to your broadband enabled phone line. Please refer to our Equipment section to order your hardware.

Business Users may optionally require additional IP Addresses. Please refer to our IP Addresses section for Business Users.
